From 8 to 12 September, the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism's emergency relief team conducted operations in the Rasu, Dhunche, and Bagmati regions of Nepal. 

On the morning of the 10th, the team distributed emergency food kits containing enough supplies for about 20 days to 700 displaced households from Rasu and Dhunche who had taken refuge at Shri Rasu Secondary School. The kits contained rice, lentils, chickpeas, and cooking oil. Due to damage to roads and logistics networks, it took three days for the relief supplies to reach Dhunche from Kathmandu.

After completing the food distribution, the team visited the village of Thulo Bharku in Dhunche. The village had been completely destroyed by a massive flood and was so badly damaged that it was difficult to distinguish between roads and the sites of former homes. The village head said, “Currently, about 150 households live here, and each has lost one or two family members or relatives.” 

Ven. Seon-il, head of the emergency relief team, said, “It is especially heartbreaking that people who were the breadwinners of their families have lost their lives or are missing. My heart is particularly heavy when I think of the children who have lost their parents. We will continue our support to provide practical assistance to the affected residents.”

The emergency relief team also helped to restore the residents’ basic livelihoods. They delivered 300 sets of recovery equipment, including shovels and pickaxes, needed for debris removal and housing reconstruction in the affected areas of Bagmati Province. Mayor Madhav Prasad Aryal said, “About 600 homes have collapsed, and approximately 820 people have been killed or are missing,” and added, “We are grateful for essential equipment that will help residents rebuild their homes.”

The final part of the team's itinerary saw them conclude their relief efforts in Betrawati, Nuwakot, Bagmati Province, after offering prayers for the victims to peacefully pass to the Buddha’s Pure Land and for the safe return of those missing.  

Meanwhile, the Jogye Order will continue its fundraising campaign for Nepalese disaster victims through organizations such as Dreaminus and the Jogye Order Social Welfare Foundation until the end of October.
